The project involves the Information Systems Institute at the University of Salford which draws itself from two research centres: the Built and Human Environment, rated 5* in the last RAE for its research in the application of ICTs in the construction industry; and the Information Systems Research Centre, rated 5* in the lastest RAE, for its extensive research in the understanding of the human, organizational, and process issues related to the use and application of ICTs. The work of the Built and Human Environment Centre is focused around information and management systems applied to the built and human environment. Relevant recent research projects include: OSCON - Integration technology (EPSRC grant); COMMIT – information management in collaborative environments (EPSRC) (Rezgui et al., 1998a); CONDOR – Technology and Processes for integrated construction document production and management (ESPRIT Framework 4 – 23105) (Rezgui and Debras 1998); Case Based Reasoning in Refurbishment (EPSRC); Advanced Decision Support Systems in the Construction Industry (IMI); IT Tools and Architectures for Improved Briefing (Link / IDAC).
